The Depot.
It was AMAZING. Congrats to my friend (who will remain un-named). She did wonderful! The Depot is about my little town, Enterprise, Alabama. It is about how we became a "peanut town". And also how our county got our landmark, the Boll Weevil Monument! And it all took place at our little train Depot. :) Now its time for more school and then lets PAR-TAY! Its Friday!!! :) Whoohoo!
Ahhh Valentines day...
Its here again. And now its over! The day that most people call Valentines Day. The rest of us just call it Singles Awareness Day! Single Ladies by Beyoncé was my theme song yesterday!:) Sadly, my V-day wasn't anything special. I got up, did school, went to Spanish and French classes and then went to work at the extension office and then came home and typed up some critiques for my dad(military stuff...totally did NOT understand any of it)! But I would like to thank my wonderful mother for going and getting me chocolates and twizlers and tickets to The Depot! The Depot is a little theatre production that some people in our town have been working VERY hard on. One of my good friends is actually one of the leads! :) Congrats to her! So today at lunchtime (well actually 10:00) we, my sister and I, are off to see The Depot!! :) after that, time for more school. But some good news! I got my passport in the mail! So now I can travel! Whoohoo! Good thing, because I am leaving in June. Hehe Europe, here I come! :)

Headed to Europe...
But not quite yet!! I am going to Europe in June! June 6th to be exact! :) I was invited by People to People Ambassadors to go on a 19 day journey to Italy, Sicily and Greece! So of course I said YES!!! After sending in recommendations and having an interview with two of the trip leaders, I was accepted! Whoo-hoo! I had passed the interview! Thank goodness! I was so worried about that. Now starts all of the meetings I have to attend and all the online classes and quizzes I have to take. At the first meeting, which was on Sunday, February 10th, we learned all of the rules and guidelines to follow on the trip as well as the laws and rules of the countries we were going to be visiting. The leaders then showed us many of the places and landmarks that we would be visiting. There sure know how to make us excited! Visiting Vatican City, touring the Christian Catacombs and the Coliseum, learning how to bake Greek wheat bread and make olive oil at a local bakery, trying our hand at pottery making, swimming and having fun at the water park in Pompeii, all that and much much more!! But we do have to do some educational things. It is an educational trip after all. We will have the opportunity to meet with either a Priest or a Nun from Rome and we will have the chance to ask them about their lifestyle and about the Roman Catholic Church. We will also tour the Italian and Grecian school and interact with the students and teachers. They will teach us the customs, dances and the ways that their education differs from American schools. I do not know everything that we will get to do, but I do know that it will be a blast! I will be posting pictures on this blog and also on instagram. Follow me on instagram at kelseyeray.

here we go...
Hello, Hello! Well, this is it! I have finally done it! I have created a blog. Shocking! I am not really sure what I am supposed to write on these things...is there a blogger code? Anyways, I decided to make one after my CRAZY weekend. If I don't write things down I normally forget about them. And I am not very good at writing in a diary or journal. So this was my next option! Hopefully I can keep it up on a regular basis. Well, on Friday, I went to work. It was a once in a lifetime thing. I am trying to earn money for my trip to Europe! More about that in a later post. So I went to work at my preachers wife's daycare. She needed a substitute for one day, so of course I volunteered! I mean, come on! How bad can 10 kids under the age of 5 be?? TERRIBLE!!! Little children can be so mean! By the end of the day I loved all of those kids, because sometimes they were as sweet as can be! But at other times, they were evil. So I went home ready to fall asleep and sleep for a week. But then I remembered! I had planned a sleepover with my little neighbor girl! She is 11 and had never been to a sleepover before! So I got home from the daycare, ate a quick supper, took a quick shower, and run up the street to go pick her up. She was all excited and jumping up and down and talking about how we were going to stay up ALL NIGHT LONG!... OH MY! What have I gotten myself into?! So down we came, back to my house. We made a pizza, watched Fat Albert the movie, and then settled down to paint our nails and watch the whole first season of Doctor Who. We didn't get very far. After four episodes, I was about to pass out. She was still pretty hyper but finally at 1:40 I talked her into going to sleep. I was so ready to sleep and was planning on not waking up until around 12:00. But 11 years olds obviously don't need as much sleep as 17 year olds. So, up we were at 8:00. We got cleaned up and headed back to her house where her dad had made his specialty for us. Toast with strawberries and whipped topping! After eating we packed into her mothers van and went to the nearest big town to do some shopping. I had a blast! My little neighbor girl? Not so much. So was in dire need of a nap, but when you are shopping, the only thing to do is walk! She had promised her mother that she would NOT whine about being tired. And she kept that promise until about 4:00 that afternoon. We decided it was about time to go home. We made it home at about 5:50 and she was out of there. So I decided it was time for me to go to bed. But no. My family had decided that it was family movie night. AAHHH! So we sat around eating ice cream and watching Madea movies until 9:00 and then FINALLY I was able to go to bed!!! :) I woke up on Sunday morning, looked at the clock and flew out of bed. I only had 30 minutes to get ready for Church! I had overslept. I finished getting ready and grabbed some food on the way out the door and we made it to Church right on time. And that's where it all happened. One of the daycare kids was there and she is a loud one. So of course she wanted to sit beside me and color and talk. She had brought a big bag of barbies to play with, and when I reached down to pick them up, I saw it. The Church cat had "relieved himself" all over the church hymnals sitting on he floor. So off to the bathroom to grab paper towels and then my sister and I had to clean it all up. All while little miss daycare kid sat there coloring. Sigh. We missed the whole singing service because we were cleaning up cat pee. After that though, we had a lovely service! We left straight from Church and drove an hour and a half to my meeting for my People to People trip to Europe. We sat in a elementary school cafeteria a the tiny tables in the tiny chairs and learned the rules and etiquette and wardrobe rules of the trip. That lasted 2 and a half hours. It was very fun because I got to meet most of the other teens that I will be traveling with! We then drove the hour and a half BACK to Church and we made it with two minutes to spare! After church we returned home, ate supper and then I went straight to bed. What a Weekend!!!! I am hoping my week will be fun but not THAT fun! I hope you had as much fun reading about my crazy weekend as I did living it! :) Until later! ~Little Miss Ray
